Starting at 08:00, Monday August 18, 2017, Prof. Tatsuhiko Aizawa (Prof. Aizawa) held a regular guest lecture on her research in the field of plasma. This activity was held by ASMAT for three days in the Department of Physics and Faculty of Engineering Universitas Brawijaya. Utilization of plasma in the health field is a topic of conversation that started his lecture.

He started his guest lecture with the latest study of oxygen plasma. The formation of oxygen plasma, when viewed from pressure, consists of low pressure plasm (kinetic electrons), messo-pressure plasm (kia and ionisation reactions), and high pressure plasm (thermodynamic relationship between electrons and ions). Compared with the many ways to make it, the plasma itself is unstable, therefore it needs to be conditioned in such a way that for good continuity, for example in place on the flow state.

At the core, he explains the role of plasma in various industries. Plasma utilization for drill coating with diamond coated tools, greatly helps miners to extend tool life. In other fields, for example, the discovery of new medical devices such as the use of lasers in surgery can replace the role of scissors. However, not necessarily the application of technology accepted in the field of health. The principle of faster, safer, and no side effects is a major factor whether the technology is used or not. At the end, he stressed that the process of new discovery is not always from the things that are completely new. However, it can also be from a withdrawal of inference based on the prior art.
