Today, Mr. Djoko was invited as a speaker at the “National Keris Keris Essay Competition” which was held by the Center for Civilization Studies Universitas Brawijaya (PSP UB) on 15th, October. The theme was quite interesting, namely “Nusantara Keris Literacy in the Millennial Era: The Link between Science, Technology, Religion, Culture, History, and Art” and this time, Mr. Djoko gave his view as a Nanomaterial and Complex System (ASMAT) Researcher.

At the beginning of the conversation, he gave a brief review of smart and intelligent materials. “Things that are sensitive to change (temperature, for example) can be classified as smart materials, while the intelligent material is even more interesting, some of them can save initial forms even though the object has undergone a change in shape due to the force. Keris may come from common materials, but because of its composition and manufacturing process, it may have smart or intelligent properties”. This is actually an interesting topic to be examined further from the keris has many values.

After the presentation from all the speakers, participants enthusiastically asked and shared their experiences about keris. The event closed with the reciting of the winner of the essay competition.
